After rigorous assessment of the ATC application to rezone the Princess St / Area 6 carpark at Canterbury Park, Council Planners found the application would cause unacceptable impact to the successful continuation of Racing events at Canterbury and have recommended this application be withdrawn! The Council has rightly determined that the loss of parking for patrons and impact to residents goes against the original conditions for approval of Night Racing in 1997. CRAG and the local community are extremely pleased with this result and agree entirely with Councils recommendations! The result is a great win for the community this time, but we fear the fight is nowhere near over….
